AMERICAN EAGLE YOUTH PRODUCTION 2-WEEK CAMP

​Your camper will grow in fitness, musicality, and creativity while having the opportunity to hone their performance skills in a fully-staged production staffed by members of the Chicagoland professional theatre community.

​Highlights of the experience include orchestrated accompaniment, sets, lighting, costumes, props, and the chance to perform in a fun-filled theatrical production.


​Camp is open to 2nd-8th grade participants.

American Eagle Youth Production 2-Week Camp

“Now, imagine a curtain and what lies behind; the kind of a place you might see in your mind.” The characters of Dr. Seuss spring to life in this fantastical musical exploring themes of friendship, loyalty, family, and community. Narrated by the Cat in the Hat, Seussical Jr. follows Horton the elephant as he discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos. Horton faces ridicule and danger as he fights to protect those smaller than him, but luckily, his faithful companion Gertrude McFuzz is by his side.

*Campers are expected to be present for all camp dates unless pre-approval is given. Campers MUST be available for performance date.

What to bring
Each day your child should bring the following:
  • Water bottle
  • Packed Lunch, nut-free
  • 2 snacks, nut-free
  • All belongings should be labeled with your child's name
  • Comfortable clothing and shoes
Your Camper's Day
​Campers are expected to be present for all camp dates unless pre-approval is given. Campers MUST be available for performance date.
  • Campers may be dropped off between 8:50AM-9:00AM.  An American Eagle team member will check in campers.
  • Campers will work with the American Eagle team members to warm-up with ensemble-building drama games.  They will work throughout the day with the director, music director, and choreographer to learn blocking, vocal parts/solos, and choreography.
  • Campers will take 2 20-minute snack breaks during the day.
  • Campers will have an hour lunch break from 12:00PM-1:00PM to eat and have free play time.  American Eagle team members may walk campers to a nearby park during this break time, weather permitting.
  • Dismissal is at 4:00PM.  Campers will be escorted to the front door to be signed out by their parent/guardian.​
What's included
  • A professional director, music director, and choreographer will guide campers through blocking, teach vocal parts and solos, and choreograph musical numbers.
  • Campers will audition for specific roles.
  • The production will include orchestrated accompaniment, sets, lighting, costumes, and props. 
  • Campers will receive an American Eagle Productions t-shirt.
Safety Guidelines
The health and safety of your child is our top priority.  American Eagle Productions has completed the Be Safe Chicago certification to ensure your camper stays safe during camp.  Our teaching artists and staff will adhere to the following safety guidelines:
  • All CDC and city health guidelines will be strictly followed.  See our full COVID Guidelines.
  • Campers are not permitted to share food.
  • American Eagle Productions asks that no nuts be brought to camp as we have campers with allergies.
  • Parents will be contacted and asked to pick up their child if their child shows any signs of illness, i.e. fever, headache, nausea, vomiting, sore throat, or persistent cough or runny nose.  The camper will be separated from the group until a parent or guardian can pick up the child from camp.  Campers can return to camp if the child has been symptom and fever free for 24 hours without medication.
  • Campers may be escorted by teaching artist(s) to a nearby park during their lunch break if weather permits. No camper shall be allowed to leave the premises without supervision.
EXTENDED Care
Extended Day (8:30am-5:30pm) is available on a weekly basis for Production Camp.

  • Add the camps you would like to purchase to your cart and complete checkout by making payment. 

  • After completing checkout, fill out the Registration Form at the bottom of this page for each camper and click "Submit."

  • You will receive a payment receipt and a copy of your google form responses via email.
If the camp for which you would like to register is full, please complete the short Waitlist Form to be added to the waitlist.
