American Eagle Productions is dedicated to providing a safe and healthy environment for its students and staff. We follow all city and CDC guidelines and have completed the Be Safe Chicago certification.
In order to adhere to all CDC and safety regulations, we will be requiring the following:
Before coming to class, please assess your child's health. If your child has any symptoms or feels ill, please do not send them to class or camp. If someone in your family is ill or if your child may have had close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 within the previous 10 days, please follow all CDC masking and quarantine guidelines based on your child's vaccination status. Students may be asked to show a negative COVID-19 test result to return to class or camp following a known exposure to COVID-19.
Parents will be contacted and asked to pick up their child if their child shows any signs of illness, i.e. fever, headache, nausea, vomiting, sore throat, or persistent cough or runny nose. The student will be separated from the group until a parent or guardian can pick up the child from class. Students can return to camp if the child has been symptom and fever free for 24 hours without medication.
All AEP team members must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, including having a booster shot at least 6 months after their initial vaccine shot(s), in order to teach an AEP class or camp.
All AEP team members will complete a health self-assessment before coming to class and will not be permitted to come to work if they are ill or if they have been in close contact with someone in the previous 10 days who has tested positive for COVID-19 without providing a negative COVID-19 test result.
AEP is adopting a mask optional policy starting Monday, March 21, 2022. While it is still recommended to wear a face covering, masks are now optional indoors for all students and AEP team members. We ask anyone who has been in direct contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 to wear a mask for at least 5-10 days post exposure depending on vaccination status. See CDC website for masking and quarantine guidelines.
Floors have been marked to help social distance students in the classroom. At times, students may have to be within 6 ft of each other. We will do our best to social distance throughout class, but some activities may not allow for it.
Parents will be asked to drop-off and pick-up their student at the outside doors. Parents will not be permitted to stay during class or wait in the building.
Extra seating has been removed from tables to ensure students maintain a distance of at least 6 ft while eating or doing crafts.
Hand sanitizer will be provided in each classroom. Students may also bring and use their own hand sanitizer.
Frequent, scheduled hand-washing breaks will be taken throughout the day.
High-touch surfaces and items will be wiped down frequently throughout the day as well as sanitized at the end of each day.
No more than 2 guests per student will be permitted to attend the informal final performance at the end of the week/session. Parents/guests will still be expected to social distance during the performance.
*All COVID guidelines are subject to change in order to stay in compliance with city, state, and federal mandates and to ensure the health and safety of AEP staff and students.
